The APS (Akademische Prüfstelle) Certificate is a mandatory verification process introduced by the German Academic Evaluation Centre for Indian students aspiring to pursue higher education in Germany. Launched as a formal requirement from November 2022, it is now compulsory for all Indian students applying for a German student visa.

The core function of the APS certificate is to validate the authenticity of a student’s academic documents issued in India, ensuring they meet the academic criteria expected by German universities. Once verified, students are eligible to apply for a German student visa.

Why is it important? Germany has seen a surge in applications from Indian students, prompting stricter scrutiny of academic documents to maintain the integrity of their admission system. The APS certificate ensures:

  • Authenticity of transcripts and degree certificates

  • Verification of eligibility for the desired study program

  • Transparency in the visa and admission process

At Nikshala, we streamline this entire process. With free application assistance, document pre-checks, and one-on-one guidance, students can apply confidently without the fear of rejection.
